We continue the series of expert articles for Belarusian businesses that are thinking about entering the international market for the business portal OfficeLife.
In the previous article, we looked at the criteria that are important when choosing a jurisdiction, and now we will compare the main directions for registering a company abroad: Western countries, Eastern jurisdictions and the neighboring countries – and give recommendations on how to choose the best option.
So what to choose?
When choosing between the West, East and the CIS, focus on the specifics of your market and goals. If your product is aimed at Europe or the USA, it may be worth going into their legal field, but be prepared for strict compliance with the rules. If freedom of action and minimal interference from various factors, including geopolitics, are important, Asian and Middle Eastern jurisdictions provide more flexibility. If you need a simple tool for individual operations, take a closer look at your neighbors.
No one is stopping you from combining: for example, a holding in the UAE, an operating company in Armenia, and a trading house in the EU. The good thing about international business is that it allows you to flexibly build structures. The main idea is that each link of the chain is legal, meaningful and adds value, and does not complicate business life.
